Rwanda Children Christian School
We're thrilled to have a primary school and high school on our campus that provides our children with an excellent education in a Christian environment! Rwanda Children Christian School welcomed its first group of 77 students in the early fall of 2019. Beginning in the fall of 2022, we offered two secondary classes, Secondary 1 & 2 (the equivalent of U.S. 7th and 8th-grade classes). In September of 2025, we had over 900 students enrolled across our preschool, primary, and secondary levels. Rwanda Children Christian School's construction, equipping, and staffing were made possible by a generous donation from The Wessel Foundation.
Rwanda Children Christian School contains a resource center available to the teachers in other schools in our community, two lending libraries, and a computer center open to the children in our care and the community. Our campus contains classrooms and labs that allow us to offer Preschool and Primary level classes 1 through 6 (the equivalent of U.S. 1st grade through 6th grade) and Secondary level classes (the equivalent of U.S. 9th grade through 12th grade).
In July 2023, we began constructing a high school on our campus that would offer grades 7th-12th. We completed Rwanda Children Christian High School in late 2024.

Serge and the team asked our kids for mascot suggestions, and the children overwhelmingly requested a tiger. The blue in the tiger’s pants reflects our school’s students' uniform color. We loved the comments our kids shared after seeing our new mascot for the first time:

“We have three primary schools and a high school in Ntarama, the community we serve in Jesus’ name. These schools need a place for teachers to get good books, materials, and other resources they can use when teaching. Also, these schools need a sister school they can look up to.”
“In our community, no school can afford to have a library. No school has the resources to offer teacher training. Rwanda Children, supported by our partners in the U.S. who are teachers, is making Rwanda Children Christian School a hub for resources and knowledge, and the community will be educated and changed.”
“We needed to be able to offer a Primary school on our campus. We currently have over 400 kids in our care. The majority of these children are of primary school age. Having a school on our campus with P1 through P6 enables us to educate the kids who are graduating from our Early Childhood Development program. We are excited to begin offering two Secondary level classes in the fall of 2022, the equivalent of 7th and 8th grades in the U.S.”
“Education is very important to the future of Rwanda. Rwanda’s 1994 genocide against the Tutsi showed us that uneducated people were deceived and manipulated. That is why the best way to support Rwanda is to support education.”

“Teachers from the schools in Ntarama can checkout teaching materials and visual aids that help them teach better. With the help of our partners in the U.S. who are teachers, we are offering training sessions to help teachers from the schools in Ntarama become more skilled as teachers. With the WiFi connection at our school, teachers from the community can search the Internet for more knowledge.”

“Because our Primary classes are being taught in a faith-based school, the community sees the kids growing up in Jesus. The kids in our care already see themselves as an upcoming generation that will love each other and serve God. Ntarama now has an example of an exemplary, faith-based school to learn from. Kids in our community are growing up to be leaders who will be disciples of Jesus because Rwanda Children Christian School is instructing them in knowledge and a Christ-like example.”
“As we have already said, there are no public libraries in Ntarama or our district in Bugesera. Providing kids and others in our community access to books creates an amazing and important opportunity to expand people’s awareness and their personal horizons.”
